The Institute of Textiles and Industrial Sciences (IT IS) at UMT is hosting a two-day International Conference on Textiles and Clothing (ICTC) on March 28-29, 2011 at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore. The ICTC 2011 is a component of the UMT Idea Exchange the 3-in-one mega event that incorporates the International Conference on Business Management (ICBM) and the International Conference on Islamic Civilization. Andreas Weber, World President, The Textile Institute, UK, is in Lahore to attend the conference.
He addressed the plenary session of the UMT Idea Exchange during the inaugural session held yesterday, March 28, 2011. He also chaired the first session of the ICTC hosted by Abid Ganaie.
The ICTC 2011 is showcasing sustainable products and exploring ways and means of improving exports. Research papers have been invited from textile professionals and experts from across the globe on major issues affecting the industry. Topics include nano-science in textiles, non-wovens, geo-textiles, conductive textiles, recyclable textiles, enhancement of industrial R & D, textile management and marketing, enhancement of environmental and effluents treatments, new developments in textile machinery, guaranteed energy source, compliance and quality issues. The research papers comprise of original unpublished research. |
